Eastern Regional Libraries, in conjunction with Burrinja Cultural Centre,  is proud to host a program of events surrounding the Fashion Meets Fiction - The Darnell Collection Exhibition.

Dreaming of Dior - Meet Charlotte Smith
Wednesday November 14 at 1:00pm 
The Darnell Collection features the magnificent garments gifted to Charlotted Smith by her American godmother, Doris Darnell. Curator and author Charlotte Smith will talk about the collection and her two books Dreaming of Dior and Dreaming of Chanel at this memorable lunch.
 
Cost: $35 (includes lunch and a tour of the Fashion Meets Fiction Exhibition with Charlotte Smith).


Dressing the Detective - Meet Marion Boyce
Wednesday November 21 at 12:30pm 
Marion Boyce had just 8 weeks to prepare a wardrobe for the ABC series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Working with vintage pieces and drawing on fabulous fabrics from top suppliers and her own collection, Marion created a breathtaking wardrobe of over 120 Outfits for Phryne Fisher. 

Cost: $35 (includes viewing of the Fashion Meets Fiction Exhibition).

Gallery Walk with Charlotte Smith
Thursday January 17 at 2:00pm
Take a walk on the vintage side when Charlotte Smith, owner of the Darnell Collection and curator of Fashion Meets Fiction Exhibition hosts this one-off gallery tour. Enjoy a delicious devonshire tea at the conclusion of the walk.

Cost: $20/$17 concession, $13 students


A Passion for Fashion with Sally MacKinnon
Friday January 18 at 2:00pm
Join image sylist and fashion consultant Sally MacKinnon for a fashion parade with a difference featuring fashions from Voski von Muller. Champagne and fingerfood will be served.

Cost: $35 (includes refreshments and viewing of the Fashion Meets Fiction Exhibition.)

A Vintage Fair to Remember
Saturday January 19 10:00am - 4:00pm
All day vintage Fashion Mini Market featuring vintage clothing, accessories, and everything in between! We will also be hosting two fabulous workshops:

Workshop 1
1940s Makeover with Candice DeVille at 11:00am
Don't miss iconic blogger and vintage hair and makeup specialist Candice De Ville when she performs a stunning 1940s makover on our model.

Workshop 2
Make the most of your Shape with Sally MacKinnon at 1:00pm
Join image sylist and fashion consultant Sally Mackinnon for tips and tricks on what to wear to make the most of your own gorgeous shape.

Brunch with Kerry Greenwood
Sunday February 10 at 10:30am
Kerry Greenwood has created the iconic heroine in Phryne Fisher. Phryne has captured even more fans since her appearance in the recent ABC series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Kerry is a fascinating lady, solicitor by day, author in her spare time. Always popular as a speaker, please join us to meet this much loved writer.
